Copenhagen in fall is pure hygge. As the days shorten and cafes glow with candlelight, the city transforms. If you are visiting Copenhagen in October, here is my local guide to the best cozy things to do during autumn—from Halloween at Tivoli Gardens and Culture Night to seasonal design shopping and finding the perfect pumpkin spice latte.

Halloween at Tivoli Gardens
If you love Halloween, Tivoli Gardens is a must-visit in October. The whole amusement park is decorated with pumpkins, scarecrows and other fun, cozy Halloween decor. After sunset, the magical light designs and warm orange colors make the Halloween spirit even stronger.

Copenhagen Annual Culture Night
One night pass to all museums
Culture Night (Kulturnatten) is one of Copenhagen’s biggest annual one-day events, held in October. The very affordable Culture Night pass (125 DKK as of 2026) gives you access to hundreds of museums, galleries and cultural institutions across the city, with many events free or nearly free. It’s a great day to explore the city after dark.

Shop for Fall and Halloween Decor
Halloween has become more popular in Denmark in recent years, which makes browsing the shops in fall even more fun. Flying Tiger Copenhagen is always a great stop for affordable, cozy seasonal decor. If you take a stroll along Strøget, Copenhagen’s main shopping street, you’ll also spot fall and Halloween decor from many popular Danish brands.

Copenhagen Dining Week in October
Cozy Dinners at Fixed Prices
Fall break is the perfect time to go out for a long, cozy dinner, and Dining Week makes it more affordable. For ten days in October, hundreds of restaurants across Copenhagen serve special fixed-price menus, with a three-course dinner, a five-course meal or a tasting menu. The menus are made just for the festival, so it’s a good excuse to try a restaurant you’ve been curious about.

Best Pumpkin Spice Latte
20 Grams
If you crave a hot drink in the colder weather, many coffee shops serve a pumpkin spice latte during the fall season. The best one I’ve had in downtown Copenhagen is at 20 Grams, near Nørreport station. I also love going there for the great brunch and the super cozy interior.
